Godavari Public School – Student Code of Conduct
At Godavari Public School, we aim to develop well-rounded individuals who value discipline, integrity, and respect. This Code of Conduct outlines expectations that every student must follow to maintain a positive and enriching environment.
1. Attire and Personal Grooming
- All students must wear the prescribed school uniform on school days and during events, unless instructed otherwise.
- Uniforms should be clean, well-maintained, and worn correctly.
- Hair must be neat and properly groomed:
- Boys must keep short, well-trimmed hair.
- Girls with long hair must tie it neatly in plaits or ponytails using white hairbands.
- Hair colouring or highlights are strictly prohibited.
- Nails must be short and clean. Nail polish, artificial nails, or any cosmetics are not allowed.
- Wearing jewellery, makeup, or flashy accessories is not permitted.
2. Punctuality
- Students must arrive at school before the designated reporting time.
- Latecomers will be given only two warnings.
- On the third instance of late arrival, the student will be sent home immediately.
- Consistent punctuality reflects discipline and responsibility.
3. Discipline
- Students must show respect to teachers, staff, and peers, and behave responsibly at all times.
- Movement in school corridors and classrooms must be orderly and quiet.
- Shouting, pushing, or running in corridors is strictly prohibited.
- Use of disrespectful language, disobedience, or unruly behaviour will invite strict disciplinary action.
4. Attendance
- Students must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance, in line with CBSE requirements.
- Absences must be informed in writing by parents/guardians.
- Absences of more than 3 days due to illness must be supported by a medical certificate.
- Repeated unexplained absences or habitual absenteeism may affect academic performance and promotion.
5. Behaviour and Conduct
- Students are expected to act with honesty, kindness, and responsibility.
- Any form of cheating, lying, or stealing is unacceptable and will be dealt with seriously.
- Courtesy must be shown to all members of the school community.
- Students are encouraged to report any misbehaviour or bullying to a teacher or counsellor.
6. Zero Tolerance Policy
Godavari Public School maintains a Zero Tolerance Policy for the following:
- Destruction of school property – will result in recovery of damage costs and strict disciplinary action.
- Bullying, ragging, or any form of harassment – verbal, physical, social, or cyber – is strictly prohibited.
- The school follows a strong anti-bullying framework, ensuring safety and respect for all.
- Possession of prohibited items or involvement in unsafe activities will lead to suspension or expulsion based on the severity of the act.
All students are expected to follow this Code of Conduct. Non-compliance will result in disciplinary actions as per school norms. Together, let us uphold the values and spirit of Godavari Public School.
